Kunstformen der Natur (German for Art Forms of Nature) is a book of lithographic and autotype prints by German biologist Ernst Haeckel. (1834 -1919).
We are belonging to the animal, mineral, vegetable kingdoms: our bodies can considered made by all these different elements. The mutation of genetic material occurs spontaneously in cells and is responsible for the variety of species we find in nature. Hundreds of millions of years ago we and the plants, for example, shared a common ancestor of whom we are all distant, different grandchildren. This diversity is coded in the genetic material.
This morphological continuum of interpenetrating human with animal, vegetable and mineral traits it’s an amazing way to let people of different ages to play in a fantastic laboratory in which children and adults could explore the origin of the universe and of the human being and his evolution; understanding the past and a little of the future, living the present.
